May 21, 2022 FWPA EMERGING PUBLIC ARTIST TRAINING WORKSHOP

I had the opportunity, along with fellow Public Artist, Lynné Bowman Cravens, to share our public art experiences during a morning informal Q&A session titled “Bridging The Gap”, which followed a remote presentation by Keynote Speaker and Public Artist Kipp Kobayashi.

This session centered on taking your studio practice into the public realm, while finding connections to a project’s location, history, and community. This was a fun yet focused exchange of questions and ideas aimed at reducing the mystique and unique challenges of entering the public art arena. We had great questions and interaction with the group.

I want to give The Fort Worth Public Art program a big thumbs up for providing such a valuable resource for up and coming public artists. This will certainly help enhance the future of our public art collection in this wonderful City. Thanks FWPA!
